Casting a Watch Case
August 8 2026
This video illustrates our process to cast a case and buckle using the "lost wax investment casting" process, a 6500 year old technique.
We are working on a new design for a new customer and good friend. The Roysdon Model 6 case is cast in 18k gold, has a Texas alligator skin band, a new automatic movement (designed and built in-house), and a special guilloche dial with enamel. We will share more over the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
We do everything in-house, including the CAD design, 3D printing, casting, lathe work, CAM and CNC milling, and we make our own fixtures for the CNC mill (also featured in this video). The following tools were used in this process: NSCNC Elara 4-axis mill, Vevor Furnace, HotShot Kiln, AnyCubic 3D Printer, Katway Cast vacuum casting machine, Inventor Fusion360 CAD and CAM, Prestige OPTIMA Investment Powder, SirayaTech casting resin.
